Monthly summary

Here is my Monthly summary, or you can call this semester summary. Usually, when I start to learn something brand new to me, I will learn very slowly, and something looks like mathematics to me, I will probably screw on it for sure. I have never success on this before. After two years in graphics, my logic and way of think are all in graphic way. Such as, I see thing as different sharp in different combination. I see posters and name cards in more typography way, I like to critic on the using of fonts and styles. I see one color as a fixed subject. I am thinking in an around way. It means if something does not work in a one, I will find another way around to get to the point. I am going to become a graphics designer’s brain. Almost.

In order to have a strong support to my graphics skill, so I took Internet production course. I think it is going to be lots of fun when I have hands on website stuff. However, the first week is ok. The nightmare started from second week in Ipro 240, the JavaScript class. In that class, we had a very clear lecture from our teacher. I learned lots of things and information about JavaScript on that day. But when I tried to do the homework, I was totally confused and even do not know how to start it. So I called help from Na. I felt this course is more like my math class in my high school. Lots of things have to be remembered, there is only one answer for 1 question or your homework will not work. I found that I need lots of practise and reading to learn this course, and I did very badly in most of my homework causes something I just don’t understand in my current graphic brain. I do not have too much to say about this course, because it just goes against my mind.

Alana’s classes are full of information and activities. I learned a lot by researching on discussion topic by myself in class. I felt this is a good way for me to learn something in a short of time. The CSS class is not that fun for me. I had to refresh my brain to remember all the stuff that I learned in graphics. Not too much things but it helps me to remember how CSS works, and understand the structure. The CSS Zen garden is a very fun project to work on. I found that if I do and practise new thing by myself, I can learn faster than just listen and read. I learned a lot from this project, such as coding in CSS, design images for web usage etc.
